Consider Adopting a Pet
According to the Humane Society of the United States, six to eight million pets enter shelters every year. About half of that number are adopted and the others are euthanized. To help manage the overpopulation of cats and dogs in addition to spaying and neutering, consider adopting from a shelter. If a pure-bred is what you want, check with your local pure-bred rescues. There are many up for adoption and they cost a lot less!
