I have been caring for pets and walking dogs since the young age of thirteen. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and in 1996 established one of the largest and most reputable pet sitting and dog walking companies, A Pet’s Best Friend. I met Paige in late 1996 and we began working together, walking and training dogs, until 2001 when I sold the business and moved to Portland. I joined the corporate world but am truly an entrepreneur at heart. I left the lifestyle to go back to doing what I love best: walking and training dogs. With huge respect for dogs and humans alike, I am truly passionate about helping dogs and people interact in effective and positive ways.
While involved in the corporate lifestyle, I became aware of how difficult it can be as a dog owner to provide attention to pets and be present the way you want to for a best friend and true companion. I am able to use skills acquired as a high-level Executive Assistant to provide clients with convenient and professional services to call upon for matters regarding office assistance, errands, shopping, and more. Looking forward to providing you with excellent service!
I have been walking and training dogs for 12 years under the philosophy of Dr. Nicholas Dodman from Tufts University, Sarah Hodgson of DogPerfect, and Dr. C.W. Meisterfeld of Petaluma, CA. Dog training is the love of my life. I believe it is extremely important to teach dogs to be part of the family for safety, security, and a lasting bond. Training should be fun, easy and positive, using techniques customized to each person and dog. I appreciate the opportunity to work with so many pet owners and show how fun and smart their dogs really are!
While in California I operated my own dog obedience classes, conducted private lessons, and worked as a liaison between UC Davis and their clients on aggression cases. I feel deeply in the importance of family and that having a dog always brings a smile no matter how bad things get. Dogs help you live longer, happier lives, and I look forward to working with you and your dogs!
